Richmond Carers Writing Group
CALENDAR LAUNCH
"Expose' - The Naked Truth"

The Richmond and Motueka Carers Writing Group gathered together every fortnight for 3 months to share their realities as Carers with each other and express themselves on paper.  The  writers have chosen a selection of their writings and original artwork and published them in the form of a calendar.

The writers chose to launch the calendar during Mental Health Awareness Week  6-12 October to "Make their mark for mental health" and they will be launching the calendar on
Tuesday 7 October
at the Richmond Plunket rooms (Oxford Street Richmond) at 6.00pm
to be followed by a shared finger food tea to celebrate.

All welcome.

Thank you to Lion Foundation and Carers NZ for your financial support

PARTNERS IN CARE - "SUNNY AWARD"  WORKING WITH FAMILIES AND WHANAU AS    PARTNERS IN CARE 2009

At SF Nelson we know that involving families and whanau as partners in care leads to better recover and improved quality of life for many people with a major mental illness such as Schizophrenia.

Its time to start thinking about nominations for the 2009 Partners in Care award which we hope to present during Schizophrenia awareness Week in March, to someone in the community who has made outstanding efforts to include and recognise the role that families play in the care of a person with a major mental illness.  You will need to include a written description of the nominated persons' efforts.

If you would like to nominate someone for this special recognition, or would like to know more about the award you can contact Susan at the SF office for a nomination form.  Phone 545 8162 or email office@sfnelson.org.nz
